How do I login?
We’ve had many comments from candidates about the missing login page since our redesign in April. We’ve looked at adding it back (it’s available on the Emergency Services pages) but the costs are currently prohibitive unless we can add functions to it for candidates, like the switching of applications.
In the meantime, to log back into an application or to view your details/emails please go to any myjobscotland microsite (select any council link from https://www.myjobscotland.gov.uk/councils) and click on My Account. You will be asked to log-in and from there your full account will open.
You can still search for jobs on the main myjobscotland portal and then once redirected to any of the microsites apply for jobs using your existing account. All details of applications across all of the councils will be accessible.
Please note that the information that you enter onto the system can be split into two parts:
1. Core candidate data – which includes your personal details (Main Details section), Work Experience, Qualifications, References, and Courses. The core data applies to your account and is reused for every application you make through the portal so any changes you make will be stored on your account and pull through to all previous and subsequent applications. So you can update these sections at any time without there being any tick boxes as the tick boxes are only available on a live application ie when an application is at Incomplete.
2. Application specific data – the application specific data is specific to the position you apply to and only relates to one specific job application. These are usually answers to questions that have been set up by the recruiting council/organisation specifically for a job. Although there may be similarities in job application questions for some positions it isn’t uniform across the board and therefore this information isn’t saved in your account. These sections only open up when you click to apply for a new position or your application status is a live one ie Incomplete.
